The best movies cannot be decided in any way because the word best is somewhat subjective. After a movie is watched by a lot of viewers, there will be a number of people for whom the movie was excellent or awesome whereas for some it would be simply a movie and the rest of the viewers may mark the same movie as sub standard. In fact, the artistic acts of a movie can never be quantified in spite of so many lists being prepared for top ten movies or top 100 listed here for that matter or even the list of best of the century. Besides, the views of critics and the viewers stay changing constantly but the movies about whom neither the critics nor the viewers alter their positive judgments are the those which can be called as the best movies.
It is not merely the name which can grade any movie of 2006 to be the best, there are so many points within a movie that when correlate in a true spirit take the movie to the peak. Grading of the movie is determined by the best performance in every forms of art including acting, direction, script, screenplay, selection of artists, sound, dubbing, editing for that matter you say a thing and it generates an effect.
The proper method to assess a certain movie nowadays is to run a survey which is a bit time and effort consuming but may mark a movie to its actual worth. Often the movies are rated best or dumb by means of the display at the box office. But, a fair and extensive study gives the actual grades. Over a period of time it is confirmed that the movies found once in the top list are the one that constantly show up on the top lists as an outcome of separated researches.
Declaration of best movies is not primarily for the points explained above; actually it depends on the trend of the time as well. The movie “Night Mare on the Elm Street” or “The Predator” gave birth to a trend and at that time, countless movies coming out on identical lines but not all of them could reach the level of best, only a few did. There exists a consensus amongst the majority of movie historians, critics, and the viewers that the movies once claimed to be best are obviously a part of the most critically appreciated, meaningful, and must-see films of their times. They are the movies which leave continuous and unforgettable imprints on us. They amuse, please, educate, and hit us subconsciously. Many of these best movies were produced years ago and might have been overlooked on first release but the time endured test approved them to be the best.
